A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Brook—Founder, CEO, and head chaos coordinator at **SoChic Vintage Loft**, where creativity runs wild, caffeine fuels the magic, and humor is basically a business strategy.

Raised in the South by my amazing grandparents, my grandpa was the OG creative genius in my life. He taught me how to draw, dream big, and turn “what ifs” into something real. Thanks to him, I’ve spent my life seeing the world as one giant blank canvas just begging for a splash of color, a little sarcasm, and maybe a few unexpected twists.

My journey hasn’t exactly been a straight line—more like a chaotic scribble. I spent four years freezing my way through Wisconsin (and working in healthcare), only to realize my true calling wasn’t in scrubs but in creating something that sparks joy and laughter. So in 2017, I came back to sunny South Carolina, reunited with my family, and got to work dreaming up a new path.

And then came 2021. Enter **SoChic Vintage Loft**—the ultimate brainchild of sleepless nights, endless research, and a million tabs open on my browser. (Pro tip: Teaching yourself to code a website at 2 a.m. is a humbling experience.) I studied markets, obsessed over design trends, and asked myself the big questions:

• What do I want to create?
• What makes it stand out?*
• How can I make people laugh and feel fabulous at the same time?

Fast forward, and here we are—a boutique that combines quirky, wearable art with a purpose: to make you look amazing, feel unstoppable, and maybe chuckle at the same time. Because if fashion doesn’t make you smile, are we even doing it right?

The moral of the story? Hard work pays off, sleepless nights build empires, and patience (plus a good sense of humor) is the secret ingredient to success. So here’s to living the dream, one fabulously chaotic step at a time!

Finding My Passion 

Owning my own boutique has been the ultimate dream come true. It’s the perfect blend of everything I love: 

- Turning my slightly twisted sense of humor into graphic tees that make people do a double-take. 

- Designing sassy tumblers and mugs to brighten your day (or fuel your caffeine addiction). 

- Curating a mix of vintage-inspired treasures and modern must-haves that make you feel like the most fabulous version of yourself.  

How It’s Going 

I’m a one-woman powerhouse, fueled by endless creativity, far too much coffee, and the occasional motivational bark from my two fur bosses (who, I’ll admit, run a tight ship).

Here’s what I do behind the scenes:

• Create designs that let you laugh at life, even when it’s a little dark.
• Crafting email campaigns that you’ll actually want to read,
• Curating and posting social media content that brings our vibe to life,
• And, of course, hunting high and low for the newest, coolest, and chicest trends to keep our customers ahead of the style game.
